Suggested QRP Frequencies

Steve, nu7t, has forwarded a list of suggested QRP frequencies
on the HF bands, which was originally published by the Eastern
PA QRP Club. You can find the list in an html table at
www.ilovesparks.com/qrp/qrp-frequencies.html.

"Welcome 2006"

After a very mild November and December 2005, January 2006 arrived in
the Reno area with "warm snow". With daytime temperatures hovering
in the high 30's, a very wet storm arrived with big wet snowflakes.

Minor changes have been made to the website; i.e., the right-hand
column contents have been moved to the left and the column space
has been eliminated due to reports of strange display properties.
Let me know if you experience problems while viewing this page.

Northern Nevada HamSwap on the Internet

There is a new 24/365 Internet Ham Swap for Northern Nevada Hams.

Called "Northern Nevada HamSwap", the net is hosted by
groups.yahoo.com. This net is for licensed hams only, to
maintain it's integrity and usefulness.

There is NO CHARGE for the use of this service.

Please note that this is a private list that is not publicly
displayed in the yahoo groups directory.

Hams may register with NNV_HamSwap by sending an email
to:

     nnv_hamswap-subscribe@yahoogroups.com

Simply list your full name, call, and physical location
such as:

  Sam Smith
  KZ7XYZ
  Carson City, NV

Northeastern California hams within a reasonable distance
(within 2-meter repeater distance) are also invited to
become members of NNV_HamSwap.

Once your registration is approved, you may immediately
start sending listings. Since we hams are an honorable
group, no approval is required for each listing; it is
immediately posted to the membership.

Here are some usage guidelines:

1. Licensed Hams may join by indicating their
name, call, and geographic location.

2. Members are encouraged to offer FREE items, those
that have lingered in the garage which can be of use
to other hams.

3. Hams are encouraged to placed WANTED items. Nothing
is too big (BC-610) nor too small (how about a needed
capacitor or other hard-to-find component).

4. Whenever a FREE, SALE, WANTED item is posted, a
subsequent listing must indicate the conclusion of
the listing; i.e., GONE, SOLD, RECEIVED.

Acceptable Items

* Items must be ham radio or computer related.
* For Sale items must have an asking price.
* No commercial enterprises permitted.
* No listing can be relisted within 30 days.
* Ham call must be included in the listing.
* Clubs & individuals may post informational info
(meetings, classes, garage sales, etc.) as INFO:

Please note: Do not reply to listings by using the
REPLY button on your brouser. Cut and Paste the
email address if a phone number is not included.

Please, let's keep it simple and respectable. In the
event things become nasty and more controls are needed,
officers of SNARS and WADG will be consulted for guidance.

"Clean out your garage and let the 24/365 NNV HamSwap begin...."

AE7I: Portable QRP at 32 degrees

Hi Steve,

As you may recall, I am remodeling the house I grew up in and sold my primary residence, therefore I am hanging out at my sister's house in Mogul with NO RADIO SETUP!!! Anyway, I was starting to go through some withdrawls, so I set up this portable QRP station last weekend. I didn't last long due to the cool climate, but it was a fun exercise. You may pass these on to the club members.

73,
Craig, AE7I
